YEREVAN. – During Wednesday’s trial of the proprietor of Armenia’s Akhtala Mine Enrichment Plant, Metal Prince Company, and American-Armenian businessman Serop Der-Boghossian, who is charged with child molestation, one of the witnesses made a sensational announcement, saying that homosexuality is widespread in Armenia’s Akhtala town, that Der-Boghossian is not the only one, and that they find this normal, Hraparak daily writes.

“After the [court] session, prosecutor [Aram] Amirzadyan stated they have no such information, and it is a mere announcement. But it is apparent that Der-Boghossian likewise noted that such occurrences had transpired in Akhtala before. Amirzadyan opposed this, too, [saying] this announcement ‘has no evidential basis.’ By the way, at one time such claims were also made concerning Serop Der-Boghossian,” Hraparak writes.
