YEREVAN. – Salary of civil employees is not competitive compared to private sector, which brings high qualified specialists to work for private sector, an open letter to the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and PM Tigran Sargsyan reads on Facebook social network.

The authors of the letter claim that average salary of the civil employees for this year should have been AMD 184,500 ($500), while next year AMD 208,500 ($563) according to the project of Sustainable Development.

The main demand of the letter is to make salary base AMD 111,000 ($300) since next year. Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arthur Grigoryan responded on this issue at the Parliament. He said that the state budget-2012 does not intend any salary raise for social employees. However, AMD 18 billion social benefit is allocated for social employees with low salary.
