YEREVAN. - Findings of a trial monitoring report on cases involving juvenile defendants will be presented and discussed on Tuesday, in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan.
The report was prepared by a team of experts from Civil Society NGO with the support of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) Office in Yerevan. It examines Armenian legislation and practice in the light of fair trial and child-friendly justice standards to reveal gaps with respect to the reinforcement of juvenile justice system under national legislation and offer recommendations, OSCE Office in Yerevan informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The event will bring together representatives of the judiciary, advocates, police and civil society organizations.
Vladimir Tchountoulov, Human Rights Officer, OSCE Office in Yerevan, Arman Danielyan, President of the Civil Society Institute NGO and Davit Avetisyan, Chairman of the Criminal Chamber of the Armenian Court of Cassation will launch the event.
