YEREVAN. – Daughter of Lyova Baghdasaryan, Director of the Armenian Capital Yerevan’s Erebuni Penitentiary, was married on Thursday, Hraparak daily writes.  

“The wedding [ceremony] was held at Florence Restaurant belonging to Yerevan’s now former Mayor, Karen Karapetyan. The wedding’s best man was Erebuni’s former Police Chief, Avo Mkrtchyan, who now heads the Fire and Technical Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Naturally, the wedding brought together numerous Penitentiary and Police Force employees, including Rafik Hovhannisyan, long-time Deputy Head of the Criminal Department. But the wedding was especially noteworthy by the fact that two known criminals—one of whom being Gevorik of Oshakan, who was recently released from prison—attended the wedding on behalf of the bridegroom. The most interesting part of the wedding was when the best man and toast maker, the former police Avo Mkrtchyan made a special toast and drank in honor of those two. The toast was embellished and delightfully drunk by all, including Penitentiary employees,” Hraparak writes.
