YEREVAN. – In 2012, around 180 thousand public servants could benefit from the social package envisioned for state employees, Armenian Deputy Minister of Finance Pavel Safaryan stated on Monday during the budget hearings at the National Assembly. And this benefit refers to the entire public sector.
Safaryan also informed that, according to the mid-term public spending program, the civil servants’ salaries shall be raised by approximately 10 percent, in 2013, and by around 20 percent, in 2014. But until then, and factoring in the additional income in the budget, it was decided to allocate 18 billion drams (US$ 47,526,460) by way of a social package.
All public servants can equally benefit from this package. According to Safaryan, this package aims to partially compensate for the inflation’s effects in the public service system.
