YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Deputy FM Ashot Hovakimyan held several meetings in Geneva, on Monday and Tuesday, MFA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.        

During his meeting with Kassym-Zhomart Tokaev, Director General of UN Office at Geneva, Hovakimyan reconfirmed Armenia’s support of the Director General’s activities and its readiness to expand cooperation. In his turn, Tokaev appreciated Armenia’s involvement within international organizations.

During Ashot Hovakimyan’s meeting with Navi Pillay, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, they discussed Armenia’s cooperation with the Commissioner’s Office. Hovakimyan also underscored the universality of human rights, including in those territories whose status is still being negotiated. They also examined the cooperation between Armenia and the Commissioner’s Office, in the prevention of genocides.      

During Armenian Deputy FM’s meeting with Margaret Chan, Director General of World Health Organization (WHO), the interlocutors looked into the Armenia-WHO cooperation. Also, Ashot Hovakimyan gave Chan details about Armenia’s planned healthcare reforms and invited her to Armenia.   

And during Ashot Hovakimyan’s meeting with Jan Kubis, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, the parties stressed Armenia’s cooperation with the Commission. They also discussed Armenia’s commitment to the international agreements signed within the framework of the Commission.
