YEREVAN. – The city hall’s budget of this year is enough to pay for all works implemented, city hall spokesperson Shushan Sardaryan said, commenting on the reports in press. The reports referred to the newly elected Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, noting that he inherited a budget with huge deficit.

“Some projects of the city hall are continuous. They are intended to be completed next year. Hence their payment is included in next year’s budget. Moreover, contract obligations for this year will be paid in the same year,” Sardaryan stated.

Earlier Armenian Hraparak newspaper wrote that the recent works implemented in the capital city, were attributed to the former Mayor Karen Karapetyan. No one understood where the Mayor takes money. Moreover, citizens believed that the former Mayor just did nothing.

“However, it was cleared out that majority of the works were implemented on debt-base. Karapetyan had concluded contracts on conditions to pay next year. Thus, the current Mayor Margaryan inherited a budget with deficit,” the newspaper wrote.
