YEREVAN.- A roundtable discussion will be held on Friday in Yerevan focused on increasing the number of women candidates nominated by Armenian political parties. The event is organized by the OSCE Office in Yerevan and OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). 

Representatives from political parties, campaign managers and other decision makers are invited to participate in the event. ODIHR and the United Nations Population Fund will present the findings of studies on gender equality in elected office and participation in public life. 

A roundtable will be followed by a two-day intensive training session for about 30 women representatives from seven political parties and will focus on effective campaigning techniques, leadership skills, and use of the media.

Carel Hofstra, the Acting Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan and Dr. Diana Digol, Project Officer from the OSCE/ODIHR will moderate the discussions.
