YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Armen Yeritsyan, awarded a group of search & rescue workers for their professionalism and high-level activities at the landslide disaster zone.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) diplomas, certificates of appreciation, and medals were awarded to 49 rescuers, MES Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.     

To note, a landslide had occurred at Tavush Region’s Vanadzor-Bagratashen section—nearby Ayrum railway station’s bridge and close to Lchkadzor village—of M6 Interstate Highway, on October 2. The 130-meter-long and 60-meter-deep terrain had covered the road, rendering it completely impassable, and the average height of terrain covering the road was 10-15 meters. Five were killed and seven were injured in the landslide, and around 35 vehicles had remained under terrain.
