YEREVAN. – Armenian Amasia city’s garment factory, which was built through the means by Armenian-German VKS-Armenia Company and capital-Yerevan-residing rich Amasia residents, specifically State Revenue Committee Chairman Gagik Khachatryan, has become an apple of discord, Aravot daily writes.
“According to some information, [President] Serzh Sargsyan’s brother Sashik Sargsyan, contrary to the will of some, became a ‘shareholder’ in the Factory. But in an interview with Aravot.am, the Factory’s proprietor, Diaspora Armenian Christian Gelici denied this information, saying he is the sole shareholder. Incidentally, according to some senior officials in Gyumri [city], Sashik Sargsyan also ‘very much’ wanted to become a shareholder in the Rublyovka Restaurant, at the Maralik-Yerevan Highway, which looks like a castle. But he was again unsuccessful, since its proprietor, who had worked in Russia and had good relations with the local influential people, was able to end Sashik Sargsyan’s desires by way of [renowned] Russian singer, [Iosif] Kobzon,” Aravot writes.
