YEREVAN.- A roundtable discussion on the possibilities of collecting and updating migration statistics will be held with the OSCE support on December 9, 2011.

The roundtable is aimed to discuss the ideas of the researchers, sociologists and demographers on the possibilities of improving migration data gathering. This would help receive more reliable data on migration that would contribute to more targeted migration management.

Carel Hofstra, Acting Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan and Ms Irina Davtyan, the Deputy Head of the State Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration will make opening speeches at the event.

Researchers, representatives from the State Migration Service, other state, non-governmental and international agencies will participate in the event.
