YEREVAN. – It can be noticed in recent times that Armenia’s former National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan is not attending those events where President Serzh Sargsyan, PM Tigran Sargsyan, and his successor, Samvel Nikoyan, are present at the same time, Hraparak daily writes. 

“It is also possible that the year could end fairly ‘impressively’ for Abrahamyan. The point is that Hovik Abrahamyan’s dismissal was just as unexpected for him as it was for the public and also for certain political circles. According to our sources close to NA, not knowing about his untimely dismissal beforehand, Abrahamyan did not have time to ‘clean up after himself,’ and thus he enabled newfangled NA Speaker Samvel Nikoyan to manifest himself. The latter, after being appointed, started ‘looking into’ Abrahamyan’s activities. [And] As our sources inform, he was able to reveal violations and misuse in several activities. According to our source, this will soon be put on Serzh Sargsyan’s table, and this will seriously affect Abrahamyan’s future career,” Hraparak writes.
