YEREVAN. – In a conversation with opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Coordinator Levon Zurabyan, Aravot daily asked him whether they still hope the ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) could cooperate with ANC.
“We never had such hope. It is apparent for us that there is a deep internal power crisis; there is a profound conflict, and this conflict is not resolved. [And] No matter how it is resolved, it will bring clarity. If they [the coalition] go with a united [parliamentary election] list, this means [President] Serzh Sargsyan was able to make [PAP Chairman Gagik] Tsarukyan submit to him, and this would result in that the authorities will be deprived of the chance to manipulate the opposition electorate. And in the case of the other alternative, the internal power crisis will deepen, and this likewise opens up prospects, as the regime’s resources will disunite, they will start working against one another, and, in general, the united team will no longer exist. If there is a crisis, its any solution is positive,” Aravot daily writes.
