YEREVAN. - On the request of reporters, Armenian police chief Vladimir Gasparyan talked about women’s role in the police and about his nickname on Thursday. He answered the questions with jokes.

“Sorry but I have to express myself in the following way: women are also human beings,” Vladimir Gasparyan said.

According to him, women participate in law enforcement forces throughout the world and they have a positive influence on the sphere.

“See what you are doing to me (Gasparyan means women reporters taking the interview-editor). How can women not be included in the sphere? I think that a woman, especially an Armenian woman, is more capable,” Gasparyan announced.

Talking about his alleged nicknames (Rembo and Cheesy) he said:

“I want to understand the differences between cheesy people and poseurs. A poseur is a person who notices what there is. A cheesy person is one who tries to let the world know that he exists. I don’t think that one can give me a nickname. There is no one who can do that. I am not a person to be given a nickname. I have got a name received from God and given from my parents.”
