YEREVAN. – When citizens take back their appeal from the court, it means they accept their guilt, opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) member Vladimir Karapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on information that several political prisoners intend to take back their appeals submitted to the European Court of Human Rights.

“The appeal of the court verdict or action means people do not acknowledge the decision and think they are innocent. On the contrary, when they take back their appeal, they acknowledge their guilt,” he said.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am has earlier informed, prisoner Suren Sirunyan, convicted for the “Case of the 7th” had claimed that he, along with other political prisoners, intend to take back their appeals, whishing not to be a tool for the ANC. However, Sirunyan has not published the others’ names.
