YEREVAN. - For a long time deforestation has been taking place in Armenia’s Lori regions Metsavan village. Several environmental activists spread news about the deforestation on the social websites.

The reporter of Armenian News-NEWS.am from Vanadzor city visited Metsavan. As our reporter informs, the trees near the cemetery were cut. The trees had been counted and numbered.

As our reporter informs, 200 pine trees have been cut. The villagers told that the cuttings have been going on for a year, the wood is sold to the villagers for AMD 8,000 per cubic meter. During the filming the wood choppers have not been there.

Our reporter tried to get information from the village head, but he was not in the village.
