Yelena Kalashyan, 31, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2010, no longer has sufficient financial resources to continue undergoing full cancer treatment.

She had undergone surgery, but she was prescribed the Herceptin medical drug for a final result. One ampoule of this drug costs 1,120,000 drams (approx. US$ 2,893), and Yelena needs to take it once every twenty days until this April. After going through the entire course, she has a 95-percent chance of being completely cured.

Yelena was already administered eleven of the eighteen courses, but her family and loved ones no longer have enough financial means to continue with the treatment, even though a few months have remained in the course.

So, Yelena’s friends ask for the help of caring people to save this young woman’s life. A group is established on Facebook, and the www.elen.do.am website is created to this end.
