YEREVAN. – The opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) could not have held such powerful public rallies in 2008 if the body politic had accepted the election results, ANC’s People’s Party of Armenia Chairman Stepan Demirchyan said during a press conference on Tuesday.
He also recalled President Serzh Sargsyan’s statement that the defeated side is unable to accept its defeat. “Of course they [the incumbent authorities] do not accept [their defeat]. You have lost, [so] leave!”, Stepan Demirchyan replied.
He also called upon the citizens to participate in the elections, not to “sell” their votes, and to change the country’s current situation by taking part in the elections.
