YEREVAN. –Armenia’s interstate highways, local roads, and mountain passes are drivable, for the most part, as of Friday 11:10 a.m.

But Selim Mountain Pass, the Berd-Chambarak, Verin Getashen-Madina highways, the roads in Sevan and Martuni cities, and the inter-community roads of Aparan, Talin, and Aragats cities are closed.

There are high winds, with a chance of snowstorm, in Amasya and Ashotsk cities.

Certain road sections and the 35th-km portion of Meghri-Yerevan Highway are difficult to pass due to blizzard, hidden ice, and low visibility. Snow removal and road cleaning is in progress.

Also, Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department informs that, due to heavy snowfall, travel at the Gudauri (Posta)-Larsi section of Georgia’s Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars Highway, which leads to the Armenian border, is prohibited for trailers and for buses seating more than thirty passengers. Traffic is solely permitted for semi-trailers and other vehicles with chained wheels, and for two-passenger jeeps.
