YEREVAN. - Armenia’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Ashot Kocharyan, met on Thursday with Lebanon’s Culture Minister Gaby Layoun and Mayor of Beirut, Bilal Hamad, and discussed bilateral cultural programs.
They also looked into the prospects for cooperation between the sister cities of Yerevan and Beirut, MFA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Armenia’s Ambassador presented to the Lebanese minister and Beirut’s Mayor the official invitation to the celebration events to be held in Armenia’s capital Yerevan in April, and in connection with the 500th anniversary of Armenian printed books and Yerevan’s declaration by UNESCO as the 2012 Book Capital of the World.
Ambassador Kocharyan also informed that Armenia plans to hold cultural days in Lebanon this fall, and this, as per the interlocutors, will benefit the strengthening and deepening of bilateral cultural ties.
They also examined the matter of organizing in Lebanon an annual festival of Armenian music.
