YEREVAN. – Rescuers from Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) finally came to the assistance of the numerous vehicles, and their drivers and passengers, who were stranded in a snowstorm since Friday on the Alagyaz-Artik Highway, in the vicinity of Aparan city.

One of the drivers told Armenian News-NEWS.am that MES workers rescued all the passengers from the automobiles and took them to Aragats Fire and Rescue Squad Division.

“They warmed up, fed, and saved them all,” the driver informed. MES is currently attempting to remove the snow from the Highway, and open the road so that the vehicles can be removed from the snow.

To note, the aforesaid driver had called Armenian News-NEWS.am earlier, and informed that the exact number of the automobiles caught in the traffic jam on the Highway was unknown. “I cannot see the end of it. I’m in the middle. There are around 10-15 cars behind and just as much ahead. We’re hungry and thirsty for 4-5 hours on the road. There are many women and children with us here. The children can no longer stand the hunger. Please do something! Get us out of this situation!”, the driver had said.
