YEREVAN. – The professional council, at the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Armenia, will be the venue on Tuesday where Hayk Demoyan, the Director of NAS Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, will present his doctoral dissertation, which, according to historian Gevorg Yazchyan, will be in Russian, Yerkir daily writes.

‘“If this takes place, I will resign at the very same moment from the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences, which the very same professional council had bestowed upon me ten years ago, and I will throw the certifying document to their face,’ Yazchyan says. [And] In an interview with Yerkir, Hayk Demoyan noted that what Yazchyan is saying is misinformation. ‘It is true that the work is in Russian, since the law does not prohibit that, but the records are in Armenian and solely Armenian will be spoken tomorrow,’ Demoyan said. He added that, in reality, with such step the latter [Gevorg Yazchyan] wishes to jeopardize the [Genocide] Museum’s successful activities. ‘Yazchyan has nothing to do with science, since an academic cannot combine science with a kebab restaurant, whereas Yazchyan has a kebab restaurant in his village,’” Yerkir writes.
