Marking World Civil Defense Day, a drill, entitled “Population protection measures in case of strong earthquakes,” was held Thursday at the school of Achajur village of Armenia’s Tavush Region.

The students and teaching staff of the school, the Region’s Rescue Department, Tavush Regional Organization of the Red Cross, and the village’s health center took part in the drill.

A provisional alarm was sounded, an evacuation was conducted, and rescue measures were demonstrated.     

According to the drill’s organizers, the event was carried out in an organized fashion, and it served its purpose.
