YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) received a distress call, on Sunday, informing that six vehicles were caught in a snowstorm, at the Mayisyan-Hovuni Highway, and that there was a pregnant woman in one of the automobiles.
A rescue squad was dispatched to the scene. Arriving at Mayisyan villages, however, the rescuers had to walk the remaining three kilometers to reach the stranded vehicles, MES informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
And with the consorted efforts by the rescuers and a road construction crew, the vehicles—which included fifteen passengers—were saved from the traffic jam, and they continued on their travel.
The pregnant woman, Alvard Sargsyan, 19, is in satisfactory condition, and she refused to receive medical assistance.
