YEREVAN. – Armenian businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan is satisfied that Syunik Regional Governor Suren Khachatryan (a.k.a. Liska) has publicly apologized for hitting her.

“I am very happy with a public apology,” she told Armenian News-NEWS.am, reflecting on the criminal case, which was launched against Khachatryan for hitting her, and which was closed on Tuesday.  

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia had launched a criminal case against Suren Khachatryan, based on Silva Hambardzumyan’s written statement, for beating the businesswoman in Armenian capital Yerevan’s Armenia Marriott Hotel, on November 14. 

“I am satisfied with the case because he ultimately regretted. This is the greatest triumph for me. What is more, I believe this is also the triumph of the journalists, who have contributed to surfacing the truth,” Silva Hambardzumyan noted, adding she will not appeal SIS’s decision.

And although the businesswoman does not think she would any longer be threatened by Suren Khachatryan, for security purposes she will not yet terminate the services of her bodyguard.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, SIS closed Tuesday the criminal case it had launched into Syunik Regional Governor Suren Khachatryan’s hitting businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan.
