STEPANAKERT. – Azerbaijan launched another intelligence-diversionary infiltration attempt in the southerly direction of the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan on the night of May 28.

The Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army vanguard units took retaliatory actions and drove the adversary back to its starting positions, the Defense Army press service reported.

According to preliminary reports, Azerbaijani side had losses: at least two killed and one injured.

Karabakh Defense Army serviceman Erik Gasparyan, 19, was killed. The Defense Army shares the pain of loss and extends condolences to the family and friend of Erik Gasparyan. The details of the incident are being clarified.
