STEPANAKERT. – During his election campaign meeting held Tuesday in the Kashatagh Region, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) presidential candidate Vitali Balasanyan met with several Armenian families who have moved from Syria’s Qamishli region to NKR’s Kovsakan Province.

They discussed the problems facing Syrian Armenians and the adaptation of such Armenians who have moved to the NKR, the presidential hopeful’s campaign headquarters informs.

Vitali Balasanyan noted that Motherland-Diaspora ties must be anchored in the principle of reciprocity. The Armenian diaspora has rendered a huge assistance to NKR, and, now, it is time for the latter to take an active part in Armenian preservation and to operatively work in the cases that pose a threat to Armenians. And Armenians living in Syria are under a threat today, and their fate should cause a serious concern for the NKR.
