The tough policy of the new US administration related to Iran raises a concern, said David Shahnazaryan, the director of Concord, during discussions of the topic “The EU and European Security” on February 7
According to him, the policy of Washington should not become an obstacle for the authorities of Armenia in the Armenian-Iranian relations, as they make the major component of diversification of the national security.
Shahnazaryan also noted, that the US considers our region as a segment included in the triangle Moscow-Ankara-Tehran, and Washington's attention to our region does not increase. "Perhaps, Moscow, taking advantage of the situation, will return the entire region under its influence. For that it might start using Nagorno-Karabakh as a factor and any other issues. In this sense, I think there is a threat for Georgia as well. Thus, the national populism in Europe would lead to results that hadn’t been predicted, " said the expert.
