YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Friday received a delegation from the Republic of Artsakh National Assembly (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR NA), led by NA Chairman Ashot Ghulyan.

The delegation is in Armenia to participate in the 12th meeting of the commission on parliamentary cooperation between the NAs of Armenia and Artsakh, at the Armenian parliament.

First, the President underscored the close parliamentary contacts between the two Armenian states. Also, he stressed that the results of discussions between lawmakers need to be periodically conveyed to the peoples of the two republics because, as per Sargsyan, “We are strong, optimistic, [and] determined if our steps are in line with the wishes of our people.”

The NKR NA speaker, in turn, informed the President about the matters being discussed at Friday’s interparliamentary meeting.

“Post-constitutional [referendum] developments both in Armenia and Artsakh also are among the series of urgent topics to us,” Ghulyan noted, in particular.
