“The woman sexually assaulted by Roman Polanski when she was a child is urging a court to dismiss the case against the film director, saying the media attention has made her ill,” Breakingnews reads Oct. 27.
According to the source, “Her lawyer Lawrence Silver said the pressure following Polanski’s arrest in Switzerland had caused Samantha Geimer, 45, (who lives in Hawaii) health problems and job worries, and she just wanted to be left alone.”
The Court says the charges cannot be dropped because the law requires a conclusion to the court process.
Thirty-two years ago, Polanski raped Ms Geimer after plying her with champagne and part of a Quaalude pill during a modelling shoot in 1977. After being sued in 1988 Polanski agreed to pay her 500,000 dollars (£307,000). However, it is unclear whether she ever received the full amount.
