YEREVAN. – Yerevan mayor Karen Karapetyan’s press secretary Shushan Sardaryan denied the information circulated in the pres that Vardan Harutyunyan, ArmRusGazprom gas company’s Board Chairman and General Director, has acquired the underpass area at the intersection of downtown Yerevan’s Abovyan-Koryun streets. Sardaryan informed about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The tender for the underpass was held on September 19. Two legal persons and one physical person have submitted proposals, and now their terms are studied. The tender’s winner is not yet determined and its results are not yet finalized, but I inform in any case that there is no Vardan Harutyunyan among the legal and physical persons who have submitted tender proposals,” Sardaryan stated.

Back on August 19, the people who are conducting trade in the underpass at the intersection of downtown Yerevan’s Abovyan-Koryun streets organized a protest across the Armenian Presidential Palace, an Armenian daily wrote on Tuesday. They protested because they had heard that Yerevan City Hall had decided to auction the aforesaid area, too, depriving them of conducting trade at their kiosks in the underpass.

“According to our sources, Yerevan City Hall has already carried out the auction and sold that area to Vardan Harutyunyan, ArmRusGazprom gas company’s Board Chairman and General Director,” the daily wrote.
