ANKARA. – The journalists asked Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan about Turkey’s steps should the French National Assembly pass the bill that criminalizes the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

And Turkey’s PM stated that if the bill passes, they have prepared three-phase sanctions against France. “On the day of the passage of the bill, we will announce the first-phase sanctions, only after which will we announce the second- and third-phase sanctions,” Erdogan said, Milliyet daily of Turkey reported.

To note, in response to Turkey’s threats, France had called Turkey to common sense, since Turkey is a member in several international agreements and organizations, and therefore it cannot take measures beyond those commitments.
