The delimitation and demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border would rule out various types of incidents. Former secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolay Bordyuzha, stated this during the Yerevan-Moscow videoconference on Tuesday.

According to him, he knows quite well the issues of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

"I have been dealing with these issues for many years. Nonetheless, in this case I would not talk about such a response of the CSTO to Kazakhstan. I would speak about the need for assistance in establishing and recognizing mutual borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan. And this, in turn, means creating joint teams and receiving materials from the archives—including from Russia. It is also about maps of different periods. It is necessary to reach mutually acceptable solutions on the issue of borders," Bordyuzha said.

Also, he expressed confidence that the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border would immediately rule out issues related to armed clashes and skirmishes.

"I do not believe that at this phase one can talk or work out issues related to the entry of CSTO troops into the territory of Armenia. The presence of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh is a guarantee of stability—although it is not possible without excesses," Nikolay Bordyuzha said, without explaining, however, what the CSTO peacekeeping force in Karabakh has to do with the CSTO's failure to fulfill its obligations to member country Armenia.
