Remittances of individuals from Russia to a number of neighboring countries last year rose to nearly $24 billion - 2.45 times the results for 2021, according to statistics from local central banks, which was analyzed by RIA Novosti. Such data published by regulators in Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Uzbekistan, reports RIA Novosti.

Uzbekistan became the absolute leader in the amount of remittances last year: individuals transferred $14.5 billion from Russia to this country - 2.6 times more than in 2021. In terms of growth rates, Kazakhstan took the lead: Money transfers to this country from Russia increased more than six-fold - up to $773 million.

Georgia is almost on par with Kazakhstan: last year remittances from Russia showed a fivefold increase, reaching $2 billion. Transfers to Armenia grew almost as fast: they increased four times compared to 2021, reaching $3.6 billion.

Transfers to Kyrgyzstan also showed a positive trend, but not as noticeable as in the rest of the Commonwealth: during the year they rose to $2.78 billion from $2.69 billion.

The regulator of Azerbaijan has still published statistics for the first nine months, but there were solid dynamics: transfers grew 5.5-fold, to $2.3 billion.

In turn, transfers in the opposite direction, that is, from the above-mentioned countries to Russia, by the end of last year, excluding Azerbaijan increased 1.27 times: up to $1.85 billion from $1.45 billion.
