The results of the UK elections suggest that a hung Parliament will be formed, BBC reported.

When no single party can get enough MPs to form a majority on its own the Parliament is said to be "hung". This happened at the 2010 general election.

In a hung parliament, the Conservative government will remain in office - and Theresa May can live in Downing Street - until it is decided who will attempt to form a new government or unless she decides to resign.

Britain's Conservatives have lost their majority. According to the latest data, the Tories have 306 mandates, labourists – 258, liberal democrats – 12, Scottish nationalists – 34, other parties have received 21 mandates.

A total of 650 Westminster MPs are being elected, with about 45.8 million people entitled to vote. A party needs 326 seats to have an overall majority.
