Belgian counter-terrorism police are investigating the motives of a suspected suicide bomber shot dead by troops guarding a Brussels railway station after he set off explosives that failed to injure anyone.

As Interior Minister Jan Jambon said, the bomb was powerful, but it failed to detonate completely, TASS reported quoting VTM.

Investigators had identified the man but were not disclosing his name. A larger bomb failed to go off.

The suspect shouted out “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great) before triggering an explosion at Brussels Central Station on Tuesday.
