Radio engineering students of Russia’s Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics have thrown out about 550 old monitors, TVs, fridges and other equipment from the ninth floor of the dormitory on Radio Day. Now they can qualify for Guinness Records.

Most of the equipment thrown out of No 6 dormitory windows included old monitors and TVs. The students also threw out fridges and washing machines, printers, keyboards, system units, etc. The citizens helped the students collect the equipment.

Students of other universities, mainly the foreign ones, captured the spectacular process of throwing out the equipment, TASS reports.

The tradition of throwing out the old equipment appeared at Tomsk State University  in 1988, when the radio engineering department students threw out an old TV in commemoration of technical progress. Since then this has become an annual tradition. The Guinness World Records representatives told the event organizers that there has been no record of throwing out old equipment from windows.
