RA President Serzh Sargsyan went on a trip to the Ararat and Armavir regions today. After visiting a number of enterprises and meeting with villagers, the President held a meeting at the Armavir regional administration.
The RA presidential press office reported that the President stressed that villagers and processing enterprises must resolve their problems under previously signed contracts. “Our task is to ensure full-scale purchase of the yield. All the producers that signed contracts with the villagers must without fail honor their commitments,” the President said. He called on the producers not to take advantage of the economic crisis for reducing purchase prices.
President Sargsyan also pointed out the Government’s readiness to assist processing enterprises in selling their products and finding new markets. He also addressed the reputation of Armenian brandy on foreign markets. The President stressed the producers of low-quality brandy cause damage to its reputation. The Armenia leader also pointed out the importance of the Government-private sector cooperation. He proposed that processing enterprises form an association to exercise “self-regulatory” quality control simultaneously with the relevant government agencies.
