At least twelve people died and ten missing as a result of heavy typhoon “Etau” in the western prefectures of Japan, with three more affected severely.

Meanwhile “Etau” typhoon is becoming stronger: as per meteorologists pouring rains will gain ground in the Pacific near Japan.

Japanese authorities recommend the locals to leave houses and move to safer places. Traffic in some highways and railways has been suspended because of the flood and landslide hazard.

“Morakot” typhoon in the southern and central regions of Taiwan brought three-day pouring rains causing the heaviest flood in recent 50 years. It isolated around 10 mln people and ruined a multistoried hotel. According to preliminary data, the disaster caused USD $26mln damage.
