A vessel with at least 19 people onboard sank off the coast of South Sulawesi province of eastern Indonesia.

As a result of the accident seven people were killed, Xinhua reported quoting head of the provincial disaster management agency H. Alamsyah.

According to him, the boat sank in Taneke waters of Makassar Strait in Takalar district.

“Search for missing persons is underway now, involving navy, personnel from search and rescue office, and disaster agency office," he said.
