Turkey has recalled its ambassador from Libya Levent Sahinkaya realizing good relations with Muammar Gaddafi harm country’s interests.
A new ambassador in Tripoli will not be appointed in the near future as Ankara does not consider Gaddafi a president, Turkish Stratejikboyut website reports.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu visited Benghazi, stronghold of the rebel government, where he met with rebel leader Mustafa Abdul Jalil.
Davutoglu said Turkey recognizes the rebel government as the only legitimate one in Libya promising $200 million assistance.
