The procedure of dual citizenship issuance will be facilitated in Georgia shortly, President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili declared at the charitable concert in New York, Georgia Online informs.

“The passport of the citizen of Georgia will be a legal and spiritual tie with the motherland and a return ticket to home,” said Saakashvili.

“My goal is to bring Georgians that live in the U.S. back to their homeland; to return some of them even physically and provide with a job to serve their country, and, to grant the others with Georgian citizenship,” Saakashvili told representatives of Georgian community in Atlanta, Georgia.

The President voiced this initiative also back in July this year, saying he would provide Georgians with equal rights for voting and participation in political life regardless the place of birth.
